Last Thought Of The Year
Last entry in the last minute for 2004.The airline industry will most likely be the first to feel the effect of any happenings around the world. Like the earthquake this time round; although I was off on that day, messages and phone calls from colleagues kept coming in either to ask if I know what was happening or telling me what was happening.
This few days after The Great Earthquake, flights to affected parts of the world are either delayed or cancelled while additional flights land with casualties and people coming home in relief. Flights to affected places are still taking off with anxious passengers returning to see if their homes are still intact or to search for missing kins. This are the times that we will not be penalized for not saying:"Have a pleasant flight." on such flights.
For those who can, do support the international relief effort by donating in cash or kind to the various agencies or by offering a prayer. Do not bully Mother Nature cause She will show you who's the boss when her patience is tested.

Delays
Met up with Justin at The Interchange to go to work together and for once he was earlier than me.Reached The Airport just after 0830 and went for breakfast at the staff canteen with Justin after signing in. My first flight to Medan was slightly delayed cause the airport there is congested with all the traffic going in with relief aids and additional passenger flights; so we can't board passengers until the Medan air traffic control give us the clearance to do so.
My Jarkata flight came in early but the departure was re-timed due to operational reasons. Alvin was the aircraft supervisor for both flights and I joked that he never bathed that's why all his flights are delayed and it showered during the flights as The Heavens want to bath him.
Other flights are uneventful and my last flight which is coming in form Medan and departing for Surabaya is delayed cause the air craft have not even took off from Medan. Although I was prepared to stay since the flight is re-timed to 2030 but I was not required to stay after checking with Central.
Justin actually waited for me for almost an hour, as he knocked off earlier than me, to go back together. He treated me to dinner at Toa Payoh Sumo Bento in return for the Christmas Present I gave him. He is sometimes like a small kid but I actually enjoy taking care of him! Anyway he is good buddy to have at work and I think our friendship won't branch any deeper outside of work boundaries as we don't really seems to have any common topic other than work related ones at the moment.

Just a thought.
There was this quite good looking guy I saw sometimes back in Shogun but the way he turn down others who approach him really sucks.He just simply makes a noise that shows that he is irritated when anyone tries to hook up with him and shoves those who try to touch him away. Was wondering if one goes to a spa but shows that he is supper pissed off by the people who approached him, then why bother going in the first place?
Even if you are supper good looking and not keen in those who approach you, can always say no in a nice way rite?

Good Boy
Got up real early today at 0645.Sent a sms to Justin to see if he woke up or not but he only replied with a call when I was at the bus stop saying that he is late and asked me if I want to share a cab with him to work. In the end, he paid for the cab fare though.
Was supposed to start work at 0900 but when I check my deployment, there is no necessity for me to sign in at 0900. So being a good boy, I signed in at 0930 when in actual fact, I reached The Airport at 0830! Had breakfast with The CI Team and the rest of the work day is just mundane as all my flights today are smooth.
Stole time before my 102 to accompany Justin for his lunch at 3 plus while I had Tau Suan and Ice Jelly - yeah, I am a dessert freak. Wanted to take a short cut to my gate through the apron but forgot that its raining cats and dogs and ended up going back the normal way, luckily was not late to meet the flight.
There was nothing for me do after my 102 so initially thought of asking for early release but didn't had the chance as Central was real busy. In the end, I signed out at the normal time and I even waited till 1830 before going to take the train! See what a good boy I am!
Debated again whether to pop into one of the spas but since I had been good the whole day so to continue being the good boy, I came home for dinner. Fate it seems is on your side when you are on good behavior as the dishes today are quite palatable.
Just another mundane day.

Shopping
Lazed at home watching televisoin programmes till about 3 plus.Justin called at about 11 plus to complain of being bored to death rotting at The Common Check In Counter. When I told him I was equally bored cause I hav no programmes on my second off day and he suggested that I go look for him at The Airport. I answered him in a matter of fact way:"You are not my boyfriend what, so why should I go look for you at The Airport?" Think he was a little offended.
Headed to Singapore Expo for The Metro Warehouse Sale but was utterly disappointed. This is the first warehouse sale that I went to without buying anything. Not that there's nothing catching my eyes, just that I didn't have the urge to spluge. I didn't even get some chocolates they have that were really cheap. Think there must be something terribly wrong with me.
Went down to chill at Nines Cafe and was mass sms-ing people to join me and once again no one was free! Walked around Chinatown window shopping and debating wheather to pop into a spa or not. Rational got the better of me and didn't went spaing at all.
Bought some cheap skate perfume and note books from one of those events stalls. The fragance is so -so but the note books are definately cheaper than those I always get at The Airport to jolt my deployments and any things I need to remember for my flights.
My next off day would be Wednesday 05 Jan 2005, so I should be counting down to the New Year in The Airport.

Boxing Day
Slept tilll close to noon. Had a yucky lunch bought from the coffee shop downstairs. The shop just changed hands and I thought they would serve better food but I was utterly wrong.Spent some time reading Friends' blog and surfing the forums and seems like the whole world was partying and having fun over the Chritmas Weekend. My eyes felt so heavy that I snoozed in the afternoon till close to evening.
Met Kiat for a post Christmas Dinner at Toa Payoh Sumo Bento. The food was great and there was this waiter that we both find him cute looking and was ogling at him on and off.
Time always sems to fly when I am together with Kiat and the best part of hanging with him is that I can speak my free mind. Chatted about everything and I joking asked him - thrice - wheather can we try woking out a relationship. But both of us know that we rather maintain as friends rather than going into a relationship as we know that all will be different when two people become parthners and have higher expectations of each other.
Was sending out a mass sms looking for company to have lunch with tomorrow. When 2 of my friends who replied - although both counldn't make it - had conversations turning in a direction that I never expect.
Anyway, it no secret that I am yearning for a boyfriend but seems that I won't be able to get attached in a short while. On one hand is the lack of socializing that limits my contacts with people and of course my irregular work hours on the other hand doesn't make it any easier. And it would be unfair to the other party as most of the time he would have to accomodate to my schedules.
Anyway, lets see how things work out.

But the funny thing is that The Airport is unusally quiet on both days.

Christmas Dinner
Had Christmas Dinner with Iggy at The Gallery Hotel after work today.The nite was almost spoilt when the staff told us that they ran out of the Christmas Meals! But luckily, they still have the main course and substituted other dishes for the appetizer and soup. Love to dine there as the ambiance of the place cannot be matched by any other restaurants that I know of and the food is delicious! On top of that, the service is excellent and there are some cute staff to ogle at too.
After dinner, we had a drink at The Sound Bar in the same hotel, sitting by the riverside catching up on what is happening in our lives; been almost half a year since we had opportunity to spent quality time with each other and Christmas is a time to renew the special bond that we have..
Any one wants to have Valentine's Dinner with me at my favorite restaurant?

Lazy Day
Lazed at home in the morning.Went to Papillons Spa in the afternoon... Only two other customes around.. but I was there just to relax without thinking of anything else... Anyway, the only staff on duty flirted with me awhile... the rest of the time is spent switching from the steam room to the jacuzzi to the lounge watching the crappy show that is showing.
Drop in at U4Ria... chatted with the boss for awhile... but didn't get anything... Proceeded to It Works originally intending for a foot reflexology session... but ended up with a massage... No hanky panky although Hama was carressing my sensitive spots on and off.
Stopped at Tangs to window shop... must say that after the makeover the place looks hip and trendy... saw some items that I fancied but the price range is not within my budget... Tried to look for low rise jeans but didn't get any in the end.

Timing
Not scheduled for Over Time today but deployed to do 97 arrival. Then was asked to stay for 98 departure.So I signed out at 2245 and arranged to meet Justin who is knocking off at 2330 for supper at Lorong 5. I switch to a cab at Aljunied and came home to bath.
Justin reached just before mid nite and we both agreed that if I had took the train all the way back to Toa Payoh, I would arrived later than him.
* Those going off shift after 2330 are provided with transport - 4 in a cab - home while those signing out before that have to take public transport.

Hair Cut
Finally had my hair cut on Saturday morning. Went to this palce near Braddell MRT Station called Simon's Salon which I saw the advertisment in the papers few days ago. The stylist Simon looks gay to me. Told him that I want to try keeping long hair so he gave me a new hairstyle that had this little messy looks and I am quite satisfied with it. Think I will be sticking to him for sometime.Took a cab to Kallang MRT then switch to trains to The Airport. After doing my sums, think it doesn't make much difference stopping at Kallang, would just cost a few dollars more if I just took the cab straight to The Airport, and if I can go together with Justin, then it would not be any more expensive when we share the cab fare.
Saturdays are quiet days in The Airport, not many flights and not many people.
Due to some negligence on my Supervisor's part, my team is going to repeat one week of night shift next week.
Still have not started on my post hurricance relief work in my room.

Wonderful Evening
Was on line and sleeping through the day so my hair is still not cut, clothes are still strewn all over the place and my room looks as if a hurricant had just passed through it.Met up with Kiat for dinner at the new eating place 'Da Pai Dan' at the HDB Hub Basement Food Court and the food is okay. Went over to the new Bento as Kiat wants to try out their Sushi and I settled for an ice cream. The waiter who served us looks cute.
Chit chat at Macs till almost 2300 then sent him to the bus stop.
Must definately pack my clothes, tidy the room and hopefully cut my hair tomorrow.

Over, Over and Over Time
Wasn't rostered for Over Time on SUNDAY but was deployed to work till 1930 to do 97 arrival.Then Central called to say that there is insufficient staff for 256 arrival as the flight is delayed. So stayed on for another flight when Sheena called to say she is sick so she and Ritzwan wants to go back and ask me to cover her 838.
Just when I was finishing up the 256 flight, Central called again asking me to go over to 859 to cover Sheena if she is not there. Although I knew that she is there, I still went over to help out.
Thus on a Sunday when I am susposed to go off shift on time, I clocked up 5.5 hours of Over Time.

Overdues
SATURDAYLong Over Due Updates.
Can't promise that I can write everyday but will try to update as and when possible.
Off today, initially wanted to go for a long overdue hair cut but was on the net reading Simply Dan's Live Journal and was so absorbed by it that all the usual chore of packing clothes, tidying up the room were left undone.
Forgot to date anyone for dinner so ended up eating alone at the new Banquet Food Court at Toa Payoh Central and the Korean Food simply cannot make it. Remembered that I have a few books overdued for a few months to be returned when passing by the library. The fines would be very heavy!
Met up with YouandMe, Toxic Boy, Kenrus and Lysis for Coffee Outing at TCC at Peranakan Place. Was ages since I attended any of the SGBoy Forum Outing and the feeling was great chit chatting and ogling at cute guys from the waiters to the passerbys.
Left TCC around 10 and proceeded to Mox. There was a great party there and met many familiar faces. Left shortly and dropped in at Why Not - its their Anniversary and the place was jam packed. Saw Kiat there and had a few words with him.
Kiat sms to ask why I left so early and if I want to join him and his friends when I was already in the train but went back to Why Not to join them since I didn't really want to go back so early.
Left around 1 plus as was really tired and have to work early later.

Twice Over
Went One Seven after work on FRIDAY nite.Unloaded twice.
Once in the jail room - was blowed by this lean guy and his oral skill was superb. Wanted to leave but it started raining before I went to bath, so ended up lazing around flipping through the magazines.
